So. I got free tickets to see a show tonight.
An old friend of mine asked me to take his 17 year old kid to the 89x stole Christmas show. Mind you this friend is obviously quite a bit older than me, and I’ve known his kid since he was 3 years old, and I hadn’t seen him since he was like 8 years old. Ya, he is now a full grown man at 17. Turns out that he is a really cool kid. He is dealing with all the same shit that we all dealt with when we were 17, but he is still pretty fucking cool. The show was AWOLNation, Taking Back Sunday, and Rise Against. I have to say that AWOLNation was really pretty good. They did a lot of really cool musical stuff that only musicians understood, like changes in time signature and key changes etc. but they were actually more than entertaining, they were impressive musically. TBS took me back to 2003 a few times, and were pretty much useless as they played anything after 2005, but Adam’s voice was great when he used it. Rise Against was exactly what I thought they would be. It was fast and it was pretty good. Overall it was a good show. It was free, and I got to fan out for a few minutes during TBS songs. I’m sorry but when you hear ‘your lipstick is calling’ etc. you go to that place. That place is special, because that place is young, and has no worries.
